Grinnell Glacier Trail
10.8 miles RT, 1,600 ft gain. The real Glacier experience. Kids 10+ can handle it with proper prep. Rewards: turquoise glacial lakes, actual glacier. Take the boat tour to cut miles.
Swiftcurrent Lake Boat Tour
45-minute tour โ kids love it and it cuts significant miles off the Grinnell hike. Grizzly bears literally on the shore. One of the most spectacular boat rides in America.
Iceberg Lake Trail
9.5 miles RT, moderate. Icebergs float in the lake even in July โ stunning. One of the top hikes in Glacier NP for families with older kids.
Wildlife Watching
Many Glacier area is the best wildlife viewing in the park. Grizzlies, black bears, moose, bighorn sheep are all common. Bring binoculars โ this is world-class wildlife.
Horseback Riding
Swan Mountain Outfitters runs rides from Many Glacier corral. $50โ$100/hour. Spectacular scenery on horseback โ an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Junior Ranger Program
Free at visitor center. Kids earn an official National Park Service badge โ they take it seriously and learn real park ecology. Available for all ages.
